That’s why we’ve decided to take all the experience we’ve had when it comes to your weddings and make a checklist of what to cover when planning your wedding ceremony so that it goes hitch-free and successfully. They are alphabetically arranged too.

A Complete Wedding Ceremony Checklist

  • A Greeter at the door to direct your guests
  • Aisle Decorations and aisle runner (include tape or weights to secure runner)
  • Altar decorations
  • Backdrop
  • Canopy
  • Flowers, vines, greenery:

Boutonnieres for fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and groomsmen

Bride’s bouquet

Bridesmaids bouquets

Corsages for mothers, stepmothers and grandmothers

Fresh flower arrangements for aisle or aisle chairs

Fresh flower arrangements for altar

Petals for the flower girl(s)

  • Officiant:

Attire for officiant will they allow you to recommend certain attire and colors for them to wear?

Podium for your officiant

Prayers or scriptures you choose to have read at the ceremony

  • Rituals:

Broom If you’ll be jumping the broom

Bubbles, rice, confetti: If you’ll be using them

  • Chairs and coverings for chairs
  • Delivery charges for any rental items that must be brought in
  • DJ:

Pay the deposit, ask if they attend the rehearsal or if that is extra

Chairs, music stands, microphone, sound system or DJ, time for arrival

Microphones – stand or lapel for officiant, singers, musicians

Music during the ceremony

Pre-ceremony music while guests are being seated

Processional and Recessional music (entrances and exits)

  • Flower girl(s) (who will purchase their dresses?)

  • Card box or other item for cards from guests

  • Lighting uplighting or romantic lighting

Signing the marriage license with 2 witnesses during or after the ceremony

  • Monogram for the wall or floor
  • Parking – be sure there is plenty of parking for guests
  • Personal touches: other special and unique ideas you want to incorporate

  • Programs whether formal or fun and entertaining
  • Rehearsal time, location and coordinator to practice the ceremony
  • Rental items and items you choose to personalize your ceremony
  • Ring bearer (who will purchase their suit or tuxedo?)
  • Rings/wedding bands
  • Seating arrangements for family & reserved seats.
  • Shawls or blankets, if ceremony is held outside during fall and winter months
  • Signage directing guests where to sit, coat closet, restrooms, or other
  • Stage or platform to slightly elevate you above guests
